How long with this last is the question, but right now I'm just out to survive the dreaded Summer Family Road Trip, and things are looking a lot brighter as of now. I've got a '96 Jeep with a cassette deck, probably one of the last years that cars came with the factory with those, and now I feel priveleged that I don't have to buy one of those FM transmitter adapters for so I can play my Sandisk Sansa over my Jeep sound system. The sound is even better than I expected it to be.
Sounds just as good as my GF's direct connect. I then read the back of the package and it said if you need to move the wire by removing the screws in order to have the right side up this is how to do it. MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD. Good value and good option for my 2003 VW Jetta that has a tape deck and also a CD player. Good product. I bought it at W-Mart and was about to take it back because it would have a weird sort of hiss on my podcast. Obviously not as convenient as a direct connect but I use this more than my wireless transmitter because now I don't have to find the right FM station. I just figured that it was as good as going to get.
It has holes to relocate the cable depending on the type of tape deck you have. I read alot of reviews for similar products. Many pros and cons for similar devices. So far I am happy with mine.
It works pretty well for the price and I haven't had any problems with it so far. This is a great cheap adapter for those of us who don't have money flowing out of our pockets.
My old one stopped working after the spot where the wire and the earphone adapter meet broke down. So the connection is much less likely to deteriorate in the same fashion. I needed to replace my car tape adapter and this one works well. Unlike my first one, this model has a earphone adapter at a 90-degree angle.
